Overview
My platform objective is simple: Make Our Delegate Relevant Again
Engagement
For far too long, there has been a serious disconnect between our delegate and our region. When this issue was raised in the past, the explanation given was always that our region simply doesn't care about what goes on in the World Assembly. Consequently, our Delegate's involvement, namely in trying to engage our region by discussing WA resolutions or simply explaining the reasoning behind their vote, ceased to exist. Ever since our April reforms, I can't help but feel like each Delegate since then has only focused on trying to execute their duty of being the chief executive of the region. While assisting other ministries is perfectly fine and encouraged under our new system, my predecessors seem to have forgotten one crucial fact: they have a ministry of their own that needs leadership.
While there is truth behind the belief that the World Assembly isn't our region's main priority, 27 of our 101 nations are in the World Assembly. While that may not seem like a lot, it is over one-fourth of our population and one hell of a good start if we can manage to get them all to endorse our Delegate (it'd also be the first time a delegate has surpassed 18 endorsements in over a year). Not only would 27 endorsements (excluding the Delegate's WA membership) drastically increase regional security and morale, it'd give us more leverage in the Interregional Legislative Coalition. While we would still be the minnow of the organization, we'd be more on par with the endorsements commanded by the Social Liberal Union (44) and The Leftist Assembly (50).
Moving Forward
If elected, I will expand my Delegate's Decision program, as debuted here, by publishing one for every vote that comes before the World Assembly to ensure everyone is well-informed of both the resolution and my stance on the matter. The only way we are going to make the World Assembly relevant in our region is to finally elect a Delegate who won't sit on their hands and use 'lack of interest' as an excuse to avoid talking about the World Assembly. While I have been pretty outspoken regarding my belief that being Delegate isn't as impactful as being the Speaker, I am more than willing to step up and be the first Delegate in over a year to truly show interest in the World Assembly. If the Delegate cannot show interest, the region won't either.
I am also going to make the same campaign promise every other Delegate candidate has made (well, maybe except Dekks). Ever since becoming our Interim Delegate, I have worked to encourage others to endorse me, and if elected, I vow to continue to do this, never wavering from my goal of earning an endorsement from ever resident who has World Assembly membership. Last Friday, I only had 5 endorsements. Today, I have 12, of which, only five are government officials (two ministers and three deputies). Earning the rest is certainly possible.
As for Parliament, I will be finishing up a solid foundation for my successor over the next day or two to make the transition as smooth as possible if you elect me as your next Delegate. As with every other ministry, I am more than willing to assist them any way I can.
Finally, I intend to bring my idea of having a channel dedicated to World Assembly discussion and debate to fruition. The idea has been brushed off in the past because 'it would never be used'. If we can justify keeping a Domestic Affairs channel that hasn't had a new post since October 23rd, we can support a channel that will have a new post, at the very least, every time the World Assembly votes on something.
Summary
I remember a time when the regional endorsement cap for regular Citizens was 16 instead of 6, and I have no reason to believe it is impossible for us to re-achieve and even surpass that. It's time we break free from this regional lack of self-esteem and forge a new identity for ourselves as a region that looks up instead of down; a region that stands for what it believes in and never backs down; a region that undeniably dares to believe in itself once more.
It would be an honor to earn your support to become our next delegate, and if elected, I vow to do my best to reinvigorate both this noble office and our great region.
