in the case of:
The Socialist Republic of Cosmosplosion [Claimant]
vs.
The Great Union of Verlzonia [Defendant]
and
The Federation of Auzzi [Defendant]
Application:
Claimant: The Socialist Republic of Cosmosplosion
Defendant: The Great Union of Verlzonia
Additional representation from: Ghostopolis
Date(s) of alleged infractions: August 19th to 20th
Summary of facts and how this broke the law/rules or violated the Constitution: Defendant is believed to have founded a region who's sole purpose was to provide "a bunker for outcast politicians and citizens of The Versutian Federation." The region was named "The New Versutian Federation". Not only is this treasonous towards TVF but it also is a violation of the Arnhelm Declaration.
Remedy/Remedies sought: Immediate removal of Verlzonia from his Vice Minister position, indefinite ban on holding office, a ban from recruiting for TVF, and a ban on speaking for TVF in any official capacity
I, The Socialist Republic of Cosmosplosion, hereby certify the above to be correct to the best of our knowledge.
The Minister of Justice has judged your application meritorious. Trial follows below.
Judgment
ALAMEI, MoJ
1. The sitting delegate, Cosmosplosion, brought suit against then-Vice President Verlzonia following their alleged involvement in the creation of a region named The New Versutian Federation (TNVF), and later petitioned the court for charges to be extended to Auzzi, the nation who took the step of founding the aforementioned region following a series of telegrams with Verlzonia discussing its creation.
2. Ghostopolis provided evidence which confirmed the culpability of the defendants in creating TNVF.
3. The defense claimed that the region was created as a bunker for citizens and politicians that were banned from the Versutian Federation, and in particular functioned as a safe haven for Verlzonia in the event that he was ejected and/or banned following widespread criticism of a proposal he had recently put before Parliament. This claim is supported by the World Factbook Entry of TNVF before the founder's withdrawal from the region and its subsequent ceasing to exist, purporting itself to be "a bunker for outcast politicans and citizens of The Versutian Federation".
4. The claimant alleged that, through the creation of the region, the defendants intended to recruit members from the VF and tarnish its reputation on the world's stage, and thus their actions constituted treason and a violation of the Arnhelm Declaration. Additionally, the claimant suggested that, even taken in good faith, the actions of the defendants constituted an error in judgment so severe as to be worthy of legal consequences.
5. It is the opinion of the court that the creation of TNVF does not itself constitute treason or any other criminal activity. Furthermore, this court holds the view that the evidence presented does not sufficiently prove the intent of the defendants to recruit from or otherwise bring harm to the Versutian Federation, and instead reflects an abject lack of good judgment, but not malice.
6. All available evidence at this time suggests that the consequences of the defendants' actions as detailed by the claimant are purely hypothetical in nature, and thus there is insufficient grounds for punishment to be levied on the basis of criminal negligence.
IT IS ORDERED that no action be taken against the defendants.
