JUNE 2019 ELECTION for MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
In accordance with Article 5, Section 1 of the Constitution, and Section 4.2.12 of the Regional Code, an election for the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs is now triggered.
Duties of the position are as follows:
Article 5, Section 2 of the Constitution
The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall be the chief diplomat of the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall have the power to:
2.1. Establish embassies;
2.2. Conduct interregional diplomacy on behalf of the region;
2.3. Appoint and manage an ambassadorial team;
2.4. Negotiate treaties;
2.5. Execute any power delegated to them by law.
Nominations will last for a period of FIVE (5) days, starting on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019, and concluding on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 at 4:00 PM EDT/9:00 PM GMT.
Any eligible Citizen may declare their candidacy below.
Eligible Citizens are those who:
Are Citizens, as defined by the Constitution; and
Have not been barred from holding office by the Court of Justice.
Voting will begin thereafter; starting Sunday, June 2nd, 2019, and concluding Friday, June 7th, 2019. The term for Minister of Foreign Affairs is to last TWO (2) months.
