IMMIGRATION VACANCY APPOINTMENT
An Appointment to address the Minister of Immigration vacancy in April 2018.
Section 1: Summary of Facts
1. Due to the enactment and transition of the new Constitution on April 2, 2018, all ministries were vacated. This leaves both the positions of Minister and Deputy Minister of Immigration unoccupied.
2. Citing Chapter 2, Clause 20 of the Regional Code, "If a vacancy or absence exists in both the office of the Executive Officer, except the Delegate, and the Deputy Minister, Parliament will appoint an Acting Minister, who will assume the powers and duties of the office so long as both positions remain vacant or absent."
Section 2: Appointment by Parliament
3. Through the passage or rejection of this proposal, Parliament shall hereby confirm or reject the appointment of The Republic of Bainius as acting Minister of Immigration until the next lawful election can be held.
